Today, we are going to talk about why Worklyn. Actually, we are going to talk about why you are double booking meetings, sending messages to yourself, losing focus to tell someone you will be late because of back-to-back meetings, and why you cannot find that document you saved last week or overlooked an important email about a deal.

Why is this normal?
How are we okay with such a way of working on one of the greatest marvels mankind has put together? It is simple: the internet is messy, and no one tried to make it a little less messy for you.
Let me get personal.
This being my second-to-last post, I would like to share something before Olivia (our head of marketing) kicks me off and takes over.
Last week, I deleted 90% of our codebase. It was the most painful thing to do… but after hundreds of customer conversations, it was clear the 10% that remains is the foundation to solve the drop in our work ethic.
The First Promise
The world is rushing toward something called AGI (artificial general intelligence). In layman's terms, they are trying very hard to replicate and automate human intelligence, which, in essence, is an artificial being.
Our job here at Worklyn is to ensure that we make sure that you find harmony with technology.
AGI is the most imminent threat, so our daily bread is to ensure you understand how to use it in your day-to-day and not be replaced by it.

Privacy: The Second Promise
Did you know I get peeved whenever someone asks about data privacy and security? In my head, I’d respond, “Do you know who I am?” :)
Of course, you don’t. You don’t know that I’ve been bred to think about data privacy and security first in everything I do and that I care deeply about what you can do with your data when you own it.
This passion has driven me into finance, working for Paystack (a fintech company) and Capitec Bank, where my care for your privacy and security was refined.
Rest assured, every time I open up my workspace, I first ask: “Is your data secure? Should your data be saved?” But for your peace of mind, continue to ask.

Conclusion: The Third and Final One

The first solution I tried to build with code when I was competent was an assistant on a Windows XP PC with 256 kbps internet. I have returned home to 256 kbps internet and a Windows 11 laptop to fully realize the thing I could not build a decade and a half ago.
What I knew then is true today: "A digital assistant is needed to help you use your information to get the job done effectively."
Every day that I use Workchat, I notice the time saved and the improvement in my work ethic in a world with a messy internet.
